Construction of a logistics center for the BMW Group has begun in Mošnov

The BMW Group will soon operate its overseas logistics from the logistics park in Mošnov. Following the issuance of a valid building permit, the development company Concens Investments has started the construction of the 3rd stage of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park complex at Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava Mošnov. The BMW car manufacturer will have three new halls at its disposal, which it will use on the basis of a ten-year pre-lease. The complex will be connected, among other things, to the railway terminal.

An automated high-bay warehouse for car bodies grows at Škoda Auto, and conveyor bridges will also be built here

The Škoda Auto car manufacturer's intralogistics at its production plant in Mladá Boleslav will be strengthened by fully automated conveyor bridges and an automated high-bay warehouse (HRL) for the transport and storage of passenger car bodies. This follows from a recent press release from the design and construction consulting firm Obermeyer Helika, which is participating in this project. The first stage of the actual project implementation, i.e. the construction of the warehouse, is starting these days.

VGP Park Olomouc completed the final phase with the new headquarters of MAPEI

VGP, a leading European owner, manager and developer of industrial and logistics real estate, has officially completed the final phase of VGP Park Olomouc by handing over Hall E to MAPEI. This global leader in construction chemicals has leased 4,267 m² of modern warehouse and office space, which will serve as its new Czech headquarters. Aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification, this state-of-the-art facility marks the culmination of VGP's development at the park.

The future of logistics and storage in the Czech Republic: New research by the SKLAD association reveals key trends

What technological innovations are companies implementing in logistics and warehousing to cope with the increasing pressure for efficiency, or what are the applications of artificial intelligence in these areas? The new study Trends in Czech Logistics 2025 offers answers not only to these questions. It was carried out by the research company IPSOS for the SKLAD association. As part of questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews, 205 logistics managers from various segments shared their opinions. The study follows on from the successful versions from 2022 and 2020.

A new hub for Toyota cars was opened in Cologne

Toyota Motor Europe (TME) inaugurated its first logistics hub for cars in the Czech Republic in Kolín, which can handle up to 350,000 vehicles a year. The investment reached 17 million euros. The hub will serve Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland.

Lidl opened a logistics center in Bravantice in Ostrava. It now supplies 26 stores, for a total of 65

At the beginning of September, according to its plan, Lidl started the operation of a new ecological logistics center in Bravantice near Ostrava. The first shipment took place on July 16, and the first employees started moving to the premises during July as well. Since September, the center supplies the first 26 stores. Most of the electricity consumption is covered by production from the gas cogeneration unit. It is the first such warehouse that Lidl has built in Europe. The goal is to make logistics more efficient with an emphasis on ecology and to use top technologies to optimize operations and minimize the impact on the environment.

AFI held its annual conference for the fifth time and recognized innovative companies

The Association for Foreign Investments - AFI held its 5th annual conference, during which it published the results of the business environment survey and awarded the AFI 2024 annual awards. The companies Vitesco Technologies and Born Digital became the winners. Aleš Cáb and Josef Švejda from onsemi took home the award for long-term contribution to the investment environment.
