The conveyor bridge route is approximately 1.2 km long and passes through almost the entire Mladá Boleslav car factory complex, both inside the existing halls, on their roofs and above the outdoor areas of the complex. The automated high-bay warehouse, which is part of the project, has a capacity of approximately 900 bodies. The conveyor bridges follow on from the planned construction of a new paint shop, which is being addressed in another separate project.
“We have to deal with a number of challenges, such as integrating the conveyor bridges into the existing infrastructure of the complex, relocating utility networks and modifying roads. We have designed an efficient and reliable system that will be fully automated and able to handle the high demands on the transport of bodies within the production process,” says Tomáš Zelenka, chief project engineer from Obermeyer Helika.
Obermeyer Helika provides a wide range of activities within the project, including carrying out all survey work with a digital 3D scan of the entire project route. It is responsible for the preparation of documentation for zoning and construction management (was completed in 2023), engineering activities and securing individual construction permits. Last but not least, it is responsible for the preparation of a detailed plan and schedule for the construction organization, the preparation of documentation for the construction implementation, documentation of changes to the construction before its completion and author's supervision during the implementation.
The project team consists of dozens of experts and specialists who supervise the course of all activities and ensure communication with the client and other interested parties.
"The project required not only a highly professional technical approach, but also consistent and ongoing organizational planning and modifications tailored to the specific requirements of the entire production site and the strategic needs of our client. Cooperation with the automotive industry, which is among the leaders in the development of modern technologies, is always very motivating for us," says Jan Korbut, project manager and deputy director of the architecture and civil engineering division at Obermeyer Helika.
