"Thanks to the long-term lease agreement we have concluded with the BMW Group, we will be able to continue to develop the location where we have been operating since 2018, which is unique not only in its location but also in its combination of air, truck and rail cargo transport. The construction of three logistics halls, which will take place until the first quarter of 2026, represents the third phase of the development of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park site in Mošnov," says Tomáš Novotný, executive director of the development company Concens Investments.
The construction of the three halls is taking place on a plot of land with an area of 513,000 m2, which Concens Investments purchased from the Statutory City of Ostrava last year. “In addition to the BMW Group Future Mobility Development Center near Sokolov, we will create a unique logistics center in Ostrava,” says Maciej Galant, general manager of BMW Czech Republic, comparing the importance of the Mošnov project for the German automaker with its testing center covering an area of approximately 600 hectares, which it opened in North Bohemia in July 2023 on the former Sokolovská coal dumps.
Concens Investments’ operations in Mošnov can be divided into four stages so far:
Stage 1 – completed construction (4 halls)
Urbanity Campus Tachov received an award from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic
In 2018, the developer began construction of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park in Ostrava Mošnov, which today includes 138,000 m2 of industrial real estate, which is leased to leading logistics and manufacturing companies. The complex also includes a railway container terminal covering an area of 151,000 m2. In 2021, part of this area, together with the production park in Nošovice, was sold to the American real estate investment fund EQT Exeter.
Stage 2 – ongoing construction (4 halls)
In the spring of 2024, Concens Investments began construction of Phase II of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park in Mošnov, which includes 120,000 m2 of first-class commercial space in Class A. These are 4 halls suitable for logistics and light production, which are immediately available.
Stage 3 – just started and described above construction (3 halls)
The project includes the construction of all access roads to the construction site and the railway terminal.
Stage 4 – construction in progress (1 hall)
On a plot of land with an area of 155,000 m2, the construction of an industrial hall with an area of 97,500 m2 is planned, which has a building permit for implementation.
According to the developer's current press release, the total area of the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park complex may exceed 550,000 m2 of leasable commercial space in the coming years.
