Jungheinrich is expanding its production network to meet the ever-increasing and growing demand for forklift trucks in the future. The reason for choosing the Chomutov plant is its location in the heart of Europe and the resulting excellent logistical connection. The new production plant is a central element needed to achieve the growth goals of the 2025+ Strategy and to increase efficiency and profitability.
Sabine Neuss, Member of the Board of Jungheinrich AG for Technology, says: “The demand for Jungheinrich trucks is constantly growing, which is why we need to increase our production capacity. The eleventh Jungheinrich plant and one of the most modern forklift trucks in the world are being established in Chomutov. This will help us grow sustainably and profitably and increase Jungheinrich's competitiveness in the long term. ”
The current production of reach trucks at the Jungheinrich plant in Norderstedt, Germany, will be gradually moved to a new plant in Chomutov, starting in 2023. The available capacities in Norderstedt will then be used for further growth. Jungheinrich will expand its production portfolio at the Norderstedt plant with parts for order pickers, which are mainly used in the ever-evolving field of e-commerce.
