Hanon Systems Thermal Technology operates a production plant for the production of cooling systems for the automotive industry in the Kladno-jih industrial zone. It has now expanded its production premises with a new hall with an area of 21,000 square meters. Construction began last summer and was handed over to the tenant this July. The existing hall with an area of 16,000 square meters is now undergoing the final stage of reconstruction.
"Panattoni is able to offer companies comprehensive solutions, including services focused on sustainable development. Already today, the sustainability of buildings is one of the essential parameters not only for obtaining financing from banking institutions, but also for the tenants themselves. Decarbonisation of the supply chain is one of the key priorities in the automotive sector as well. Thanks to our expertise and experience in the implementation of complex projects, including specific cases such as cooperation with Hanon Systems, we can contribute to the transformation of the entire industrial sector towards a greener future," says Jan Andrejco, regional development director at Panattoni.
The new building meets strict sustainability requirements and aims to obtain the BREEAM New Construction green certification at the Excellent rating level. The hall is equipped with heat pumps, a photovoltaic power plant and innovative systems for managing rainwater, which promotes the careful use of resources. A helicopter was also used to transport the technology to the site, which reduced the traffic load due to the operation of the building during the exposed period. The project also includes the reconstruction of existing buildings with an emphasis on energy efficiency and life extension. In particular, the complete reconstruction of the perimeter shell and the total reconstruction of the original administrative building are underway, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and improvement of the working environment for employees. Completion of the reconstruction is planned for the end of this year.
"We are glad that another important manufacturer from the automotive segment has added to our number of clients. In the last year, it has really been driving the demand for new halls. Hanon Systems employs over 21,000 people worldwide and is historically a very well-established employer in the Kladno area. I am pleased that we can, from the position of the owner of the Kladno area and at the same time an investor in the project, support a company whose story is an example of the fact that modern industrial real estate is the backbone of the European economy," comments Jiří Stránský, head of development at Accolade.
The Kladno region is valued both in terms of infrastructure and with regard to the amount and availability of qualified labor. The D5, D6, D7 highways as well as Václav Havel International Airport are nearby. The railway connection between Prague, the airport and Kladno with a modernized line is also a great promise for the future.
