The hub was built on the grounds of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ)."Our investment of 17 million euros in the Cologne mega-hub confirms Toyota's commitment to doing business in the Czech Republic. This strategic move not only strengthens our presence in Central Europe, but also shows our confidence in the potential of this region," said Robert Kiml, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ).

In the new center, TME will retrofit manufactured cars with accessories, it will be possible to customize cars and prepare them for delivery to customers.

The center of Cologne is connected by rail to several European Toyota car factories. According to the company, the train connection between TMUK, TMMF and TMMCZ has led to savings of 4,237 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year since its inception in 2022. Another rail link to Poland, near the site where the automaker produces the Proace Max, is expected to further reduce emissions by an estimated 1,100 tons per year.
