The newly installed technology will allow Tchibo to optimize the capacity and use of storage space and speed up some other logistics processes. At the heart of the new system is modern automation and conveyor technology, which ensures that returned goods without any defects are immediately re-offered centrally for sale. This acceleration of processes is ensured by a pocket sorter with approximately 110 packing locations. The modernization also includes a basic control system that optimizes the cycle of goods with minimal expenditure of time and resources.

"Thanks to its concept and newly completed innovative conveyor technology, Cheb is one of the most modern logistics centers in Europe. And we are very proud of that," said Jens Köppen, CFO of the Tchibo Group. "Thanks to this highly efficient and sustainable logistics center, we can successfully face the challenges of rapidly changing markets," he added.

"Tchibo is a key client for us in the Karlovy Vary region, which brought exactly what was needed to this region: top modern technologies with high added value. The level of innovation and sophistication of Tchibo's operations reach a level that many outsiders may not be able to fully imagine. We greatly appreciate that Tchibo is one of the largest tenants in the Accolade Industrial Fund portfolio. This partnership strengthens our determination to develop a modern infrastructure for business across Europe," said Milan Kratina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Accolade Industrial Fund.

"We have been working with Tchibo at Panattoni Park Cheb for eight years and we are honored to have been able to design and create the space in such a way that it is possible to use the most modern technologies. This is another project that proves that even high-end logistics facilities can have a very high added value and help the economic transformation of the former coal region," said Pavel Sovička, CEO of Panattoni for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

"At FORTNA, we are proud of our cooperation with Tchibo, from the first concept to the detailed design of the operation, the tender process and the implementation. We are glad that we could participate in the opening of the new distribution center. At the same time, we are pleased that Tchibo trusts us not only to create a high-performance, innovative logistics design, but also as a partner in the effort to set a new standard for e-commerce solutions," said Bjørn A. Brunkow, Vice President and Head of Consulting at FORTNA.

"Over the course of a number of months, we have seen great collaboration between all partners involved," said Michael Brand, Executive Vice President EMEA at Körber Supply Chain Software. "Thanks to this, we have created one of the most efficient warehouse sites in the Czech Republic, which is powered by a flexible and high-performance software platform for the supply chain, which seamlessly connects all the individual links of logistics. This is a great example of a comprehensive supply chain.”

"We are very pleased to cooperate with Tchibo as their trusted logistics service provider from 2020. Our joint commitment to innovation and efficiency in logistics perfectly aligns with Tchibo's determination to provide its customers with exceptional service in a dynamic e-commerce environment," concluded Filip Budík, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Czech Republic.

Panattoni Park Cheb, owned by the Accolade Industrial Fund, was created in close proximity to the D6 highway, just 8 kilometers from the border with Germany. Thanks to its efficiency and qualities, this park won the CIJ Awards for the best industrial park in Central and Eastern Europe in 2017. The Tchibo distribution center building itself received an "Excellent" rating under the strict international sustainability certification BREEAM New Construction.
