Logistics automation is the key to staying competitive.Within five years, 99% of the companies contacted expect at least partial automation, while up to 76% see full warehouse automation in the same time period. Currently, companies most often implement autonomous handling technology (AGV, AMR) and picking or mobile sorting robots. 63% of respondents plan to equip workers with new technologies. A quarter of companies want to automate in their existing warehouses. 12% of the companies interviewed are considering building a new automated warehouse "on a green field". If companies are willing to invest in automation over the next three years, they most often state that the amount is less than 50 million crowns.
In addition to automation, 70% of respondents want to focus on job security in the near future. 56% of respondents plan to implement WMS within one year, 47% are interested in warehouse analysis and optimization. 44% want to find new warehouse spaces, and 35% of the approached companies are going to deal with security.
The most prominent trends are AI, data analysis and sustainability
The current situation in Czech logistics shows that the turbulent times continue to accelerate. Logistics is dynamically developing with an emphasis on efficiency, sustainability and adaptation to new challenges.
According to experts, artificial intelligence (AI) has great potential for logistics and warehousing. Its application is still in its early days, and today it is mainly used in the areas of process optimization, demand forecasting and data processing, where it helps companies plan better and make decisions based on more accurate information. Digitization of data leads to improved efficiency and accuracy of operations. Businesses have their treasure in data.

Other topics are green logistics, when companies focus on reducing the carbon footprint and energy consumption of their operations thanks to growing environmental requirements.Sustainability is becoming the new required standard. Companies are most focused on environmentally friendly waste disposal and optimized use of resources and capacity. In the context of growing e-commerce, Last Mile Delivery is becoming an increasingly important part of the logistics chain. Ways are being sought to optimize and maintain costs for the last leg of delivery to the customer.
Companies continue to look for savings, especially in the area of energy management, but also in optimizing the movement of goods and human resources in the warehouse. Shifting from previous years, there is increased pressure to rapidly deploy automation and higher expectations for return on investment, reflecting the growing need to adapt to dynamic market changes and ensure long-term competitiveness.
